Take a look behind the scenes of the BMW Group's largest component plant. Observe selected production steps up close and get to know BMW in a completely new way. As a centre of innovation, the plant masters state-of-the-art production technologies.
A
state-of-the-art production system is currently being developed
for the BMW Energy Master, the central control unit for the high-voltage battery for the New Class. The plant is currently producing the complex control unit in pre-series operation. This area will be part of the management team.
You can also gain an insight into the
light metal foundry, which started pre-series
production of the central housing for the New Class electric drive unit in October. For the next generation of housings, experts have further developed the specially developed casting process, known as Injector Casting. This innovative process not only guarantees optimum mechanical properties of the cast part, but also reduces energy consumption, CO2 emissions and resource requirements.
